The transmitter produces a signal for search and rescue personnel to use in locating survivors of an aircraft water landing. The ultrasonically welded case is designed to protect the transmitter from the high external loads encountered during packing of the slide/raft device. The transmitter mounts securely onto a replaceable, independent battery unit.
The SRB produces a location signal on the 121.5 and 243.0 Mhz emergency frequencies.
